Portrait of a Japanese Family 和家族画 (Meiji Shrine)
Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 16 November 2009 in People & Portrait.
This particular scene was heartwarming.
Mom and dad are trying to take a photo of daughter and son. Daughter, most likely age 3, is obeying mom's instructions and is just staying put in pose, waiting for mom to snap the photo. Dad poses son next to daughter, then steps back. Mom is allllmost ready to snap the photo, when son wonders what's happening, why am I over here with my sis, and thinks he should join mom and dad. Dad, smiling with a chuckle, picks up son and moves him next to daughter. This repeats a few times; finally, they get the shot--when daughter tries to help by holding onto her brother.
Man, I'm happy I'm not a kids photographer....
