desert camel 砂漠のラクダ (UAE)Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 11 May 2009 in Landscape & Rural. We sped out into the gorgeous Arabian desert, and somewhere around an hour's worth of rushing past sand I turned to my friend with a childlike smile and said, "Hey--Is it cool if I get out and take a stroll for a bit? Just for like 30 minutes or something." Hiromi chuckled and said she was waiting for me to ask that very question. And so out the door I hopped, onto the pillows of sand, savoring that searing desert heat which enveloped my body. I walked and walked, catching millisecond-long glimpses of surprised drivers as they zipped past, and eventually happened upon a camel rancher's range--something small and lovely, and a secret I am certain that all of those drivers and other tourists had missed. - - - - -

Hoshisato from Ealing, United KingdomLove the composition of this photo; the Aminus3 thumbnail was completely empty which was very curious. 11 May 2009 11:28am @Hoshisato: Hey Hoshi! Yeah--I realized that the thumbnail was pretty blah as well, and had considered cropping the photo a bit...until I said, oi! No! Let it be grey--the photo looks fine the way it appears. And I like that big sky. ;-) k@ from Paris, Francethe large place left for the sky makes this shot "something else", great ! 11 May 2009 1:11pm |
