Statue of Ramses II ラムセス2世の偶像 (memphis)Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 23 April 2009 in Art & Design. After visiting the Pyramid at Saqqarah, we ventured to the open-air museum in Memphis. While the “museum” itself is fairly small, it does have quite a few nice-looking statues--particularly this one.

observing from North West, United KingdomThe size of this statue is staggering, a wonderful shot ! 23 Apr 2009 10:05am @observing: thank you! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesOh wow! What an immense statue. The man really helps to convey the sense of scale here. 23 Apr 2009 12:27pm @Laurie: yeah....i won't lie to you, i felt a bit intimidated by the watchful guard. each time i pointed my lens in his direction, he kind of stared me down,; i decided on a wider view of the scene, which ended up including him (posed quite well, i think)--without drawing his ire. Rix Photography from Ottawa, CanadaThis gives such a clear perspective of size ..great work! Stu from Kyoto, JapanThat guy sitting there really makes this work. Very cool shot. 23 Apr 2009 2:47pm @Stu: i thought so as well... cheers! |
