sundrying corn 日乾しコーン (shirakawago, japan)

While the name "Shirakawago" may not sound familiar to many people, photos taken of the area's famous snow-covered gassho-zukuri would surely cause many snap their fingers and say, "Oh! THAT place!"
But instead of displaying those photos today (taken during my visit to Northern Gifu this past weekend), I thought I might start with a humble photo of, well, drying corn hanging from the window of one of the thatched-roof homes.
