ghostpuncher お化けパンチ (yokohama, japan)Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 4 February 2009 in Cityscape & Urban. While the shot is not really involving ghosts or spirits, I did like something about the way the background character in the shot was passively "interacting" with the foreground; in the same vein I had started contemplating a series of photos involving either slightly blurred subjects in the foreground or graffiti juxtaposed somehow with real life. (On the tangent of ghosts: Lately I have been quite taken with stories translated by Lafcadio Hearn, and in a similar vein have been seeking out stories of places in Japan that are mysterious for whatever reason (e.g. places supposedly haunted; places people avoid; etc.). If you happen to know of any such places in Japan, please let me know! I am in the midst of compiling a list of places and their corresponding stories using Google Maps--and hope soon to post a link thereto.)
