Very cool! My son is familiar with Kanji. I have a white erase bulletin board on my office wall and he leaves me "notes" in Japanese and I think it is Kanji...although it is nowhere near as beautiful as this. I also don't know what it says...and he laughs at me when I ask so I suspect he is teasing me with it in some way. I know he hurls insults in Japanese at his brother when he is annoyed...I have picked up on that! lol

It is interesting because he took 6 years of Spanish through elementary and middle school, did well as far as grades went in the classes, but really learned nothing useful. He's been taking Japanese for less than 2 years and can carry on simple conversations, understands quite a lot, and can hurl insults at his brother. He has an awesome Sensei and it helps to have an interest in the language.
