Wadagura park lanterns 和田倉噴水公園の提灯 (tokyo, japan)

Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 30 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture.

These lanterns, sitting outside the eastern edge of the Imperial Palace, are part of this year's Lightopia--a series of holiday illuminated displays around Tokyo. The different designs on the lanterns, painted by junior high school students from around the area, serve to me as quiet reminders of the hope within this coming New Year.
