fuji fisherman 釣人と富士山 (kamakura, japan)Posted by timothy sullivan (Tokyo, Japan) on 22 December 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. i think this has to be one of my favorite photos for 2008. something about it being a quiet moment: a lone fisherman waiting for a bite, with the most beautiful mountain in the background. As beautiful as Mt. Fuji is, as many guidebooks will doubtlessly note, it is a rather shy mountain--often hiding behind a veil of clouds. There are two excellent vantage points from which to see her, though: 1) Enoshima island in Kamakura (easiest access: from Tokyo, take the Tokaido line to Fujisawa; then take the Odakyu line to Enoshima). 2) Tokyo Metropolitan Government building in Shinjuku.
