pond lit by autumn light 秋光に照らされ池 (tokyo, japan)

Compared with my native New York State, autumn comes late and lingers for quite a while in Japan. Whereas my parents have seen quite a bit of snow at their place, the leaves have finally come off most of the trees in the northern part of Japan--but in the Tokyo area, we still see quite a few on the trees.
Last week I went to Rikugien, a tranquil Japanese-style garden near Komagome Station (JR/Metro Namboku line). Each autumn they illuminate the fall leaves at night--which proves rather popular with both tourists and Tokyoites. Prior to strolling through the gardens, you can enjoy a cup of sencha (green tea) at any of the tea rooms (one shown here at left), and quieten your mind.
