turtle island 亀の島 (kameido, japan)

Located in eastern Tokyo, Kameido is a maze of small, quiet streets (past its central shopping street). A nice 15-minute stroll away from the station, Kameido Tenjin temple is one of the major attractions for the area; the temple grounds are particularly beautiful in spring, when wisteria flowers cascade as purple water from their boughs.

As Kameido's name (literally "turtle door") might suggest, a good number of turtles reside on the temple’s grounds.
