zao waterfall 蔵王の滝 (yamagata, japan)

this past weekend i toured around Yamagata prefecture--and spent quite a bit of time around Mt. Zao, one of the most famous mountains in the Tohoku region.

this waterfall, on the other hand, while not as remarkable as some of its cousins in the area (i'm not aware if it even has a name), was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a few quiet moments of reflection.
