many Americans will remember today in many ways-- many of my friends will remember their loved ones, their friends or their coworkers; or how when, as children, and as adults, we went to the top of the tallest buildings in the world, our gaze infused with awe as we looked outdownaroundward that glittering spiderweb of a city and felt as if we could reach out and truly scrape the sky with our fingernails.

i pray that we can remember these happy memories of our youths--and ensure that children of all other cultures around the world will have happy memories of their own.
