ginkakuji temple 銀閣寺 (kyoto, japan)

of the many temples in Kyoto, probably 5 of the top 10 popular ones with tourists are (in no particular order):
- ginkakuji (the "silver pavilion"; shown here)
- kinkakuji (the "golden pavilion"; absolutely stunning)
- kiyomizu-dera (an expansive and absolutely beautiful temple)
- ryoan-ji (has an amazing rock garden)
- nanzen-ji (particularly in fall, has amazing scenery)
