@don: it's interesting-- if i recall correctly, this was taken just after a major storm, and the sun was just breaking out of the clouds; i literally ran down to the shore, watching those ruby-red waves lap at the beach. i popped on an ND10 filter, filled out that exposure time, and this turned out to be one of the bracketed shots that worked. thank you, kodachrome!
